At Hydro Extrusion in Vetlanda, we are looking for you who want to become part of their trainee program in production technology!
About the role
Hydro Extrusion is a world-leading aluminum extrusion business with a strong focus on future technology. The company has around 100 production facilities in 40 different countries with approximately 20,000 employees. Through their unique combination of local expertise and a global network, they offer everything from standard profiles to advanced development and manufacturing for most industries.
Now, together with Hydro Extrusion in Vetlanda, we offer a structured and developmental trainee program where, over 12 months, you will have the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up, apply your skills, and build a broad network. The program alternates between practical work and projects with internal department rotations. Every fifth week, you will have the chance to spend a week in another department, which you will largely help design yourself. This is to build a holistic understanding of the business. The trainee year concludes with an international exchange of approximately one month at one of Hydro's factories in Europe! After the trainee year, you will receive a permanent position within the organization based on the company's needs and your own interests.

Responsibilities
The trainee program is designed to give you a holistic understanding of production technology through practical work, project management, and networking across the entire organization in a high-tech environment. In the role of trainee, you do not have the same requirements as a permanent employee; the focus is on learning, understanding the processes, and growing into the role. You will work closely with daily production and alongside experienced production technicians.
Your days will consist of, among other things:
- Participate in both operational and development-oriented tasks within production and technology.
- Work in different parts of the organization and gain insight into various professional roles and processes.
- Be involved in improvement and development initiatives related to the business's needs.
- Build a broad network within Hydro and get to know their production sites and ways of working.
- Develop through continuous dialogue with your mentor and regular follow-ups on your development plan.
- Collaborate with operators, maintenance, and managers to optimize operations.
We are looking for you who
- Recently have or are about to complete a degree in mechanical engineering, product development, building technology, or similar.
- Have good analytical skills and enjoy learning new things.
- Have a B driver's license and are comfortable with some travel occurring in the role.
- Have good knowledge of the Office package.
- Communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
It is meritorious if you have
- Previous industrial experience, for example as a machine operator or similar.
